Hitachi Solutions has announced it will be co-developing a new contact centre with Warwickshire County Council (WCC) to bring 11 of its key services, including highways and customer feedback, onto a single platform as part of the Council’s digital transformation journey.

The platform will provide users with real-time updates, visual aids, and the option to make payments digitally. Residents will no longer need to contact the WCC Customer Service Center to track the progress of a query or application, reducing call volumes and pressure on Customer Service Center staff.

Hitachi Solutions and WCC are jointly implementing the new software, supporting the business case of the innovative project while also training Council staff with the necessary technical skills to manage and maintain the new customer platform.

The new system will utilise multiple tools from the Microsoft Cloud ecosystem to create a hybrid solution architecture, helping replace legacy systems and meet new requirements, including end-to-end digital services that support the Council’s long-term objectives set out in its digital roadmap.

Technological implementation presents an opportunity to do things differently, more efficiently, and to meet challenges in new ways. The rollout of the first two of 11 key services took place on January 16, 2024, with the remaining nine services being rolled out by the end of the same year.
