Creating a workplace and a world where everyone belongs.
Our Social pillar is about the impact we have on people, our employees, our customers, and the communities around us. We are committed to building an inclusive culture where diverse perspectives are celebrated, where everyone has access to opportunity, and where we actively support the health and wellbeing of our people and communities. This isn’t just about policy; it’s about everyday actions that make a real and lasting difference.

Strategic Pillar 1: Diverse Perspectives
Create a workplace where all employees feel valued and they belong.
Goal 1: Female Representation – Foster an inclusive culture that promotes opportunities for personal growth and career advancement for anyone identifying as a woman, across all levels and departments.
How we support this goal: We are building expanded programmes and content to support female career progression at Hitachi Solutions, covering mentoring, leadership development, and community building such as our Women in Digital, Data & Government programme.
Goal 2: Disability Inclusion
Advance disability inclusion by creating accessible opportunities, providing support for employees with disabilities, and achieving Disability Confident Level 2 status.
How we support this goal: We are committed to designing and building accessible digital solutions in line with WCAG standards, and to ensuring our own internal culture reflects those same principles. Our approach spans user-centred design, talent practices, and supply chain, we want to tell the disability story at Hitachi Solutions in a way that is honest, tangible, and inspiring. We are on the path to achieving Disability Confident Level 2 accreditation.
Strategic Pillar 2: Economic Equality
Goal 1: Supply Chain Sustainability
Audit our supply chain in line with Sustainable and Ethical Supplier Standards (SESS), and partner with organisations and businesses who share our core values and ethical approach.
How we support this goal: We are strengthening our approach to responsible procurement, ensuring that the businesses we work with meet our standards on ethics, sustainability, and social value. Our SESS framework gives us a structured way to assess, improve, and report on supply chain alignment.
Goal 2: Digital Skills Gap
Provide skills training and support that equips underrepresented and disadvantaged groups with tools for career growth and increased confidence.
How we support this goal: We believe access to digital skills is one of the most powerful levers for social mobility. We partner with organisations to deliver training and support that opens doors for people who might otherwise be left behind by the pace of technological change.
Our Gen H Internship is a launchpad for ambitious young adults looking to break barriers and unlock new opportunities.
Strategic Pillar 3: Wellbeing
Support positive mental health and wellbeing for people and communities.
Goal 1: Workforce Wellbeing
Nurture a supportive environment where our people are equipped with tools and strategies to manage their wellbeing and know how to access further support.
How we support this goal: We provide access to mental health resources, employee assistance programmes, and training that helps our teams build resilience. We are committed to a culture where talking about mental health is encouraged and where people feel supported to bring their whole selves to work.
Goal 2: Supporting the VCS
Drive positive change and empower local communities by supporting the Voluntary and Community Sector through partnerships in areas such as volunteering and fundraising.
How we support this goal: We encourage every employee to use up to five days per year for volunteering, contributing their skills and time to causes that matter. Through our charity partnerships and fundraising activity, we invest in the communities where we live and work, creating tangible social value beyond the work we do for our clients.
